What effect will this increased number of beds have on the water and sewer needs ? Will the increase of the population overwhelm the traffic to and from the housing complex? What about the spaces for parking .Doesn't the added population simply make the need for free space increased in the complex. We have yet to absorb the increased student numbers in our town , but one can see increased arrests already. Do we need the increased tax revenues from this addition of beds , how will these revenues benefit Durham residents ? Will we be spending the dollars gained by adding police and inspection costs? Aren't we increasing the space needed for each resident in an apartment ? How does the request for increased beds effect the new requirement ? Regardless of the approval of added beds, the development has destroyed a special vista . If the developers wish to be seen as good neighbors the developers should improve the landscaping without requiring the additional beds . The landscaping should have been considered as part of the approval process initially .
