Each time we drive from our home in Lee to UNH via Mast Road, we are struck by the incredibly ugly view of the Lodges due to the removal of trees on the edge of the property. We were shocked and horrified to see this natural buffer removed, and a large retaining wall put in its place. Many residents of Durham and Lee enjoy walking in the UNH fields adjacent to this property, but the enjoyment of a peaceful, rural environment has been ruined by this aggressive development. As you are well aware, it will take decades for any replacement trees to reach the height and screening power of the natural buffer that was removed. We certainly hope that the developer will be made to replace what was removed with large enough plantings to mitigate this eyesore as quickly as possible. Sincerely, Donna T.
