I believe we have now reached the limit for reaping benefits from student housing in the Central Business District. We have in fact tipped the balance so far in favor of the student population downtown that residents and tax payers have few businesses of interest to them. Increasing the student population will also put more stress on police and fire services. As we saw on Super Bowl Sunday, the potential for costly vandalism is greater with more students able to easily congregate downtown.
