Reason for Interest in Running for Elected Office:
As a second generation American whose parents came here as refugees fleeing persecution, I deeply appreciate living in a democracy. I believe strongly in the importance of taking civic responsibility, both by exercising the right and responsibility to vote, and by serving one’s community.

I have been a Supervisor of the Checklist since January 2015, first completing the remainder of the term of my predecessor who resigned, and then successfully running for election in 2016. I value my increased involvement in and knowledge of the electoral process. The position has become more interesting and demanding as attitudes toward and legislation regulating our voting procedures have changed before and because of the pandemic. I enjoy working with my fellow supervisors and town officials to provide Durham with well-run elections that have consistently earned praise. I am eager to continue serving the community in this role and by doing so, contributing to the integrity and transparency of the voting process.
