About Durham Economic Development
We work to retain our current businesses and recruit desirable new business activity to the town. We are here to assist potential new businesses through the development process by being responsive and proactive. We work to bring wealth into the community and investment that contributes to the overall quality of life for residents and visitors of Durham.
How can we help you?
- By providing assistance to applicants investing in projects within the town of Durham. Let us help you through the planning and development process with your new business venture or the growth of your existing business.
- We provide resources and information to help existing businesses stay in Durham, and where possible, to expand their operations here.
- By managing several business and development incentives.
- Working with the real estate community to promote undeveloped locations and empty or underutilized buildings. To this end, we keep an updated list of open properties, both those that are listed with agents and those that are owner represented.
- Actively promoting and marketing Durham.
- The Planning Department is a resource for economic development expertise to the town departments and various committees and the Town Council as needed.
- By using the Master Plan to guide appropriate development for the Town.
