ROBIN GLASSER - Library Board of Trustee
1 Roysann Way

Education:  I hold a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Library and Information Science degree.

Occupation:  I am retired library director with 30 years experience working in public libraries in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Prior to my tenure as a public library director, I was school media specialist and music teacher.

Years as Durham Resident:   My husband and I moved to Durham 2 1/2 years ago to be closer to our son and his family who live in Barrington. We thoroughly enjoy living in the Seacoast area and particularly like living in Durham, with all a college town has to offer.

Previous Service on Governmental/Community/Civic Boards:
I was appointed Alternate Trustee this past August and have enjoyed serving on the Board of Library Trustees. Prior to moving to Durham, I served on the Norfolk (MA) Friends of the Library executive committee and also served on our Condo Association Board of Managers.

Reason for Interest in Running for Elected Office:
I have been a life-long library user and advocate and believe that public libraries are a vital part of every community. Libraries are so much more than a repository of books. The Durham Public Library is a vibrant part of our community and serves all residents —- from our youngest to oldest citizens —- by providing an array of programs and services that enhance the fabric of our community life. I feel that I can contribute to the Town of Durham by serving on the Library Board of Trustees and by working to ensure relevant library services.
