Ellingwood Lot
Dame Road I 4.3 acres
DIRECTIONS: From the Durham Town Hall follow Route 108 south 3.5 miles to Newmarket. Turn left onto Dame Road and proceed approximately 2 miles; the property is on the left (the north side of Dame Road). The parking area for the Sweet Trail is on the right, just past the Ellingwood Lot. Google Map
ABOUT THE PROPERTY
Dorothy and Earl Ellingwood conveyed this long, narrow, wooded property to the Town of Durham in 1989. The Ellingwood Lot is significant due to its location within a large block of conserved land owned or under easement by The Nature Conservancy, NH Fish and Game, or the Forest Society. It harbors a mix of wetlands and upland forest.
There are no trails or other amenities on the Ellingwood Lot.
