Lamprey River Advisory Committee
The Lamprey River Advisory Committee has been actively protecting and advocating for the river since its formation in 1990 when the Lamprey River in Lee and Durham was designated as one of the first river segments under New Hampshire Rivers Management and Protection Program. State designation helped with federal designation in 1996 under the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act for 11.5 miles in Lee, Durham and Newmarket. An additional 12 Wild and Scenic miles in Epping were added in 2000. In 2011, the full 50-mile main stem river plus five main tributaries were designated by the state, making the Lamprey River watershed the first in New Hampshire to be granted this extra level of protection.
For more information, please visit the Lamprey River Advisory Committee website at https://www.lampreyriver.org/. To join the Committee, please fill out the form linked below and return it to Karen Edwards, Durham Administrator's Office, at kedwards@ci.durham.nh.us.
