Zoning Amendments for the ORLI and MUDOR Zoning Districts

April 23, 2014 - NOT RECOMMENDED TO THE TOWN COUNCIL

I. Discussion on Amendments to the Durham Zoning Ordinance pertaining to ORLI and MUDOR Districts, regarding density.  Initiated by the Town Council on March 4, 2014.  In Table 175-54, the Table of Dimensional Requirements, change the area for Minimum Lot Size (in all 4 categories), Minimum Lot Area Per Dwelling Unit, and Minimum Usable Area Per Dwelling Unit in a Conservation Subdivision as follows:

1)    Change to 40,000 square feet in the MUDOR District

2)   Change to 150,000 square feet in the ORLI District

II. Discussion on Amendments to the Durham Zoning Ordinance pertaining to ORLI and MUDOR Districts, regarding residential uses.  Initiated by the Town Council on January 13, 2014, as follows:

1)    Change Single-Family Residential use in the Office Research Light Industry and Multiunit Dwelling Office Research Districts from a Conditional Use to Not Permitted;

2)    Change Duplex Residential use in the Office Research Light Industry and Multiunit Dwelling Office Research districts from a Conditional Use to Not Permitted;

3)    Change Multi-Unit Residential use in the Office Research Light Industry and Multiunit Dwelling Office Research districts from a Conditional Use to Not Permitted; and

4)    Change Mixed Use with Residential use in the Multiunit Dwelling Office Research District from a Conditional Use to Not Permitted.
