Durham's Information Technology Department

Durham's IT department provides technical support and services to the Town. The IT department is responsible for managing and maintaining the hardware, software, network, security and data systems of the organization. Some of the common tasks that an IT department performs are:

• Installing, configuring and updating computers, servers, printers and other devices
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and requests from users
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures for IT operations and security
• Maintaining a helpdesk for timely and accurate response to issues
• Monitoring and optimizing the performance and availability of the IT infrastructure
• Evaluating and recommending new technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and productivity
• Providing guidance to users on how to use various IT tools and applications
