Department of Public Works - Maintenance Worker IV - Sanitation

The Durham Public Works Department has an opening for a Maintenance Worker IV in the Sanitation Division. This is a full-time, AFSCME unionized position that offers excellent medical, dental, life and disability coverage, eleven paid holidays per year, and state retirement. High school diploma or GED equivalent are minimum educational requirements to apply. Applicants must have a commercial driver’s license, class A or B with at least 3 years driving experience.
Must be able to lift 50lbs, work independently and be willing to perform in various working conditions. Ability to operate other equipment and machinery helpful. Must be willing to be on call for 24-hour emergency operations such as snow plowing. Hourly wage starting at $21.43, plus opportunities for overtime. Clean driving and criminal record will be confirmed.
