Public Works Project Engineer
Durham Public Works, located on the Great Bay Estuary in the beautiful Seacoast region of New Hampshire, is a recognized leader in the Public Works field. We are seeking a highly qualified team member to join an exceptional team of public works professionals to serve in the role of Project Engineer. In this exciting role you will take on challenging and rewarding work involving drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, coastal resiliency planning and construction, building and facility construction, including the restoration of historic structures, land management, sustainability, street and highway system design and construction, solid waste management, technical reviews, and stormwater management. The Town of Durham is home to the University System of New Hampshire’s flagship campus. The Town, University and Durham Public Works work collaboratively managing our water, wastewater, stormwater, land, and transportation shared assets to deliver the highest quality service to our customers.
Durham Public Works is a fully integrated and progressive Department with modern equipment and facilities. The position includes performing civil and environmental engineering activities associated with the investigation, design, maintenance, and construction of public works projects. The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree with major course work in civil engineering from a recognized college or university with a minimum of two years of responsible experience in the field of civil engineering, including design and inspection. The successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office computer software applications, stormwater modeling software, and geographic information system software. Must also have competency in using engineering/survey instrumentation.
Salary range for this position is from $74,687 to $95,057, depending upon qualifications. This position includes a generous benefit package, NH Retirement System, Health, Dental and Paid Time off.
