Comparing and shopping for an EV

There are several websites that are designed to help the first-time EV buyer through the learning curve associated with EV technology, and find the best fit for an individual’s needs. Here are some we recommend:

To get started, PlugStar has a shopping assistant which steps you through questions to help find the best match for your driving needs.

For information about what EVs and Plug-in Hybrids qualify for Federal Tax Credits, the followings sites are helpful, but these regulations are complex and subject to change, so research carefully. Different rules apply to new cars being purchased, new cars being leased, and used cars. Consumer Reports lists several categories:
