How to check what Durham Community Power Plan I have
A frequent question is "How do I find out what's my current electricity rate plan?" This should be a simple question but currently it is a bit complicated due to the fact that the information on your rate plan is not available in all places. The CPCNH Data Security and Privacy Policy protects your data, but makes it harder to easily find your rate plan.
The first surprise is that you won't be able to retrieve that information by going to the Durham Community Power website; from there you can request to opt-up, opt-down, or opt-out, but your current plan information cannot be retrieved from that interface. However, you can find out your rate plan by calling the CPCNH Customer Center at 1-866-603-7697 (POWR), or by sending your question and account information to their email address at Info@CommunityPowerNH.gov. The Customer Center can also help explain rates and many of the features of Community Power, and can place orders on your behalf for changes.
You can also find your rate plan using your Eversource bill, either paper or online, and going to Page 2 (see figure, click to enlarge). Under the heading "Total Charges for Electricity" you will see two categories of charges, Supplier (the name of your electricity provider, like Durham Community Power or Eversource), and Delivery (your default Utility, like Eversource) that maintains the wires and network. Under Supplier, you will see only Durham Community Power (not your rate plan), and the calculation of your electricity cost as power (in kilowatt-hours (kWh)) x rate (in $ per kWh ). From that rate, you can look up in a current rate table what plan that corresponds to. In this figure the rate is listed as $0.084 which was the Granite Plus rate for Feb - July 2024. The new rates are:
