Durham Fire Department Job Opening - Fire Inspector/Firefighter

2020 Salary Range: $61,500 - 63,800 (per collective bargaining agreement)
The Town of Durham Fire Department is now accepting applications for the position of full-time Fire Inspector/Firefighter. Under the direction of the Durham Fire Marshal, position responsibilities include but are not limited to, code enforcement, investigations, public education services, and performing fire prevention inspections for the Town of Durham and the University of New Hampshire.
Minimum qualifications: The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years municipal firefighting experience, possess the ability to meet the requirements of part Fire 701 of the State Fire Code (Firefighter Entrance Requirements) and/or Part Fire 703 (Transfers) and possess a strong working knowledge of the NFPA Fire Prevention Code & Life Safety Code as well as the International Code Council’s International Building Code. Before completion of the first year of employment, the successful candidate must qualify as a Fire Inspector according to the National Fire Protection Association’s Standard 1031, become certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and obtain a New Hampshire CDL-B driver’s license. A college degree with course work in a related field is desired, but not required.
